The United States has a thirst for consumption that no other country on Earth can compare to. This way of life is unsustainable from the standpoint of both resources and financial stability. The consequences of our actions are beginning to show themselves. Our government is drowning in a debt of trillions of dollars, our financial system is on the brink of collapse, and our citizens struggle beneath the burden credit card debt, loans and medical bills. It is the beginning of the end of an era of irresponsibility and mindless consumption. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
