| Hopefully, you have heard and know all about Peak Oil. This is a great shirt to get people who are unaware of the coming energy crisis to ask you what exactly Peak Oil is. The longer we wait to address it, the harder it will hit us. We must do something now about Peak Oil, it is no longer a question of if, but a question of when. Please help to spread the word about this incredibly important issue, it is literally going to be the defining event of our species. For those of you who do not know, and have not figured it out yet, Peak Oil is point at which oil production peaks and we begin an ever downward slide in supply. With economies like India's and China's exploding, and current levels of consumption, demand will far out strip supply. In short, there will not be enough oil. In the 1970's the U.S experienced a similar but short term situation. The oil supply dropped approximately 5%, prices skyrocketed and fear gripped the nation. People began to horde gasoline and the economy turned for the worst.
This time around will not be temporary and will take place globally. Imagine a world without enough oil. How will we fuel the tractors that supply the world's food? How will people get to work? How will products we depend on be manufactured? Oil is used in the creation of a vast quantity of products, from toothbrushes to t-shirts to computer chips. If an oil crisis were to occur with no preparation the economy would literally grind to a halt. The world as we know it would change, ushering in an age of extreme poverty, starvation, homelessness and death. Our current life styles are deeply dependent upon oil.
